Dark clouds and silver linings

Today I heard about a grand wedding of an Indian tycoon (Ambani's son) from a friend of mine, and he showed me some videos of it too. He said famous and powerful people from around the world have been invited to it, and the cost of the event was going to be several Billions (of Indian Rupees or USD, I don't know). If you think about it, India is a country with a higher population of substandard living conditions. There are innocent and miserable children who are forced to work for a mere subsistence, being deprived of education, health facilities, and food and water. I remember a movie based on a true story in which Akshey Kumar was playing the leading role where he makes sanitary towels (pads) for poor women who could not afford it. In such a country, a single wedding event spends billions of money. What a crappy world we are living! You could imagine how much wealth this family has amassed.  CHAPTER VIII

 

NATIONAL POLICIES

 

45.       State Assembly, in the following manner, shall adopt national policies, taking into serious consideration of the Principles of State Policies and Fundamental Duties described in Chapter V of this Constitution, in consultation with the intellectuals of the country and without derogating the devolved powers to Local Councils, on any matter or subject, of national importance, notwithstanding the fact that such matter or subject falls under the Central Government or Local Council.

(1)    President on advise of Prime Minister with the approval of Cabinet of Ministers shall establish, for a specific subject for which a National Policy shall be adopted, a Presidential Commission as per the provisions of subparagraph 59(1)(q), with not less than three members who shall be distinguished intellectuals of considerable experience on such specific subject, of whom one member shall be appointed as the Chairman of such Commission;

(2)    The Commission so established shall conduct its sessions in public, and invite and entertain views, opinions, and submissions from the People without any restrictions; and shall prepare its final report and submit to President;

(3)    Based on such report, Cabinet of Ministers shall prepare the draft of National Policy on such subject;

(4)    Prime Minister shall submit such draft of National Policy to State Assembly for its approval by a Simple Majority; and Speaker shall endorse it by signing the Certificate of endorsement by Members of State Assembly and submit it to President for his endorsement upon which such National Policy shall be operational in guiding all State entities.
